Itineraries from Montegallo, Sports and Wonders of the Sibillini Mountains
Montegallo is a municipality in the province of Ascoli Piceno made up of 23 hamlets located between 500 and 1000 meters above sea level. above sea level on the slopes of Monte Vettore, the highest in the Sibillini Mountains National Park.
Hiking certainly represents the most important attraction for our area as it has numerous paths of different levels of difficulty and suitable for both families and experts. The Great Ring of the Sibillini is a 120 km route, divided into 6-7 stages, which crosses all the most beautiful places of the Sibillini Mountains... and the Camping Rifugio Ristorante Agrimusicismo is a stage point.
Mountain bike enthusiasts will be able to have fun on beautiful rides immersed in nature among woods and wide views that extend to the Adriatic Sea. Every year, in the month of August, a beautiful category cycling tour is organized which attracts numerous participants for a beautiful day of sporting celebration.
The Municipal Swimming Pool is only 4 km from the Camping, Refuge, Agrimusicismo Restaurant, giving you the opportunity to go for beautiful swims with a beautiful view of Mount Vettore or for pleasant sunbathing by the pool lying on comfortable loungers for maximum relaxation.
Just 5 minutes by car from the Camping, Refuge, Agrimusicismo Restaurant, there is the small town of Interprete, a place considered a paradise for those who practice bouldering (bouldering or rock climbing), an ever-expanding activity, where enthusiasts can find routes different routes and routes for every level of difficulty up to the extreme one. The 2001/2002 Bouldering World Champion, Mauro Calibani, succeeded in an ascent of 8b (French scale) and E9-7a (English scale) in this place. This represents one of the most difficult climbs accomplished in Italian territory. Interprete, for climbers, represents a true earthly paradise.
In the surroundings of Montegallo there are countless attractions that attract thousands of tourists from all over the world. We can mention the indescribable beauty of the Lentil Flowering of Castelluccio di Norcia (20 minutes), the suggestive Lake Pilato (start of the trail 20 minutes away), the mythological Monte Sibilla with its thousand-year-old legends (30 minutes start of the trail), the fascinating Gole dell'Infernaccio and the Hermitage of San Leonardo (30 minutes from the start of the path) and many many others.
